Providence Beer Co.

The Providence Story

The Providence Beer Co. is owned by the Imperium Group, a diversified privately owned investment group with businesses operating throughout Import Distribution, Signage, Home Improvement Solutions, Equities Trading, Luxury Accommodation and Hospitality.

Owner and Managing Director, Andrew Cox has over 25 years business management experience in organisational change, corporate finance and marketing. Prior to establishing the Imperium Group, Andrew was a Director of KPMG Corporate Finance where he specialised in International Mergers and Acquisitions. His clients included Telstra Corporation Limited, Fosters Group Limited, Tabcorp Limited and Coles Myer Limited. Andrew has previously held senior executive finance positions with Coles Myer Limited, J Boag and Son Limited where he was General Manager Finance and Corporate Affairs, and with HSBC Plc as the Corporate Banking Manager in Christchurch, New Zealand.

It was Andrew’s role as General Manager International at J Boag and Son Limited that started his dream of one day owning his own Brewery Company. In 2014 Andrew’s dream of owning his own range of boutique beers became a reality when the Providence Beer was born through a partnership with the Australian Beer Company.

The Partnership

In June 2014 Andrew formed a partnership with the Australian Beer Company, owned by Coca Cola Amatil; for the Providence Beer Company range of beers and ciders to be brewed by the Australian Beer Company.

The Australian Beer Company’s brewery is a state of the art facility in Yender, near Griffith in NSW. The purpose built brewery, with its cutting edge technology and an award-winning Master Brewer delighted consumers by winning several gold medals for its beer brand in 2014 – a considerable achievement given the beers were up against more established brands.

In August 2014, all TGI Fridays restaurants launched the Providence Beer Company range across Australia.
